Dear Prof. Ferrazzi, Until a few years ago, I could not have dreamt that I would be able to meet the legend of cardiac surgery in person. Your name has been associated with me, as well as with all young doctors who dream of cardiac surgery, with a unique surgery to save the lives of patients who were previously considered hopeless. However, I have the privilege and good fortune to spend a whole year in your community at the Policlinico di Monza, where I am gaining invaluable experience. I have discovered you as a person who has managed to bring together a single, highly qualified team of specialists who work clearly, harmoniously and professionally. As a doctor who sincerely passes on his colossal experience, and without hiding it, shares the nuances of the problem that he knows thoroughly. As an example of the impeccable organisation of your working time, attitude towards patients and colleagues, constant search for the optimal solution to the problem at hand, international professional activity. Your philosophy of sharing your knowledge to save adults and children is truly changing the world for the better, enabling cardiac surgeons worldwide to carry out the highest mission. I also want to thank your team, Dr Spirito, Dr Vaccari, Dr Zyrianov, Dr Casati, Dr Poggio, for their professionalism, friendly attitude towards young colleagues who are just starting their careers, and their desire to pass on their knowledge and share their work. This was very important to me. I am grateful to them for the opportunity to live and work in such an environment for a year.
